FuGio is the ship between Pannacotta Fugo, a former ally of team Bucciarati, and Giorno Giovanna, the main protagonist of the fifth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
The ship's popularity mainly stems from the (non-canon) JJBA light novel Purple Haze Feedback, which expands upon Fugo Pannacotta's character and his whereabouts after the events of Vento Aureo.

Giorno Giovanna ✦
Giorno is the main protagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fifth part, Golden Wind. He is often described as a calm, yet impulsive and initiative person. One of his most important characteristics is his ability to make quick, important decisions without hesistation, often refered to as his "resolve". Giorno's stand is known as Gold Experience and posesses the power to give life to nonliving things. This ability is often used to either turn objects into living organisms or creating brand new body parts - acting as a healing power, of sorts.
Pannacotta Fugo ✦
Fugo is a side character and former ally in Golden Wind. He's a member of Bucciaratis team and, although his appearances are quite shortlived, he assists both Bucciarati and Giorno in their mission to protect Trish Una. He has a serious and caring personality, but can be very quick-tempered and sometimes violent. He is often deemed the strategist of the group due to his particularly high inteligence. His stand has the ability to release a deadly virus encapsulated in his hand that kills any lifeform in it's range in 30 seconds.
why do i ship them?
I obviously can't speak for every FuGio shipper, but the main reasons why i ship them myself are the following:
contrast: they tend to clash in various aspects! giorno represents life, fugo represents death - giorno is calmer, fugo is quick-tempered - giorno is impulsive, fugo is analitical - giorno is idealistic, fugo is realistic . . .
shared interests: even though their personalities tend to be very different, there's certain stuff that they share. for example, they both tend to have a passion for knowledge and both of them tend to be more rational and strategic. shared traumatic events are also a huge aspect of the pairing
purple haze feedback: a lot of the language used in Fugos light novel is. well. i'll just leave some parts of it (extracted from the JJBA shipping wiki):
