me & movies i have to be completely honestly honest - ive never been a huge movie guy. first of all, movies were never exactly accessible to me as a kid, but i also
never really found anything that interested me a lot. i remember this one time i got invited to a sleepover and, as kids usually do, we decided to watch a "horror" movie -
the thing is that it wasnt even that much of a horror movie, it was a kid-friendly retelling of a very well known urban legend. im not saying the name for the sake of my dignity because
it REALLY wasnt scary at all AND YET i still got scared shitless. couldnt stop talking about the movie to my mom for like a week straight and, from that point on, i got banned from
watching horror movies until i was older. the thing is that this ban persisted for uh, maybe way too long, and i didnt actually start watching horror movies until ... 5 months ago. which is
a bit insane because im 17 years old but whatever the point of telling this story is that i finally managed to find my "niche" in a way. ive never been so into movies until now -
i feel like its partly because im kind of making up for my younger self in a way, but im so glad that discovering this specific genre managed to make me be actually interested in
movies for the first time in my life. so! the point is that a vast amount of the movies i talk about here are horror and in a way its the genre that actually managed to make me
finally get into movies
last movies i watched:
Little Shop of Horrors (1986) ★★★★★
An American Werewolf in London (1981) ★★★★★
favorite movies:
The Matrix (1999)
im writing an actual mini review for this one some other time i have way too many thoughts on it fav movie of all time
Re-Animator (1985)
watched this movie back in like 2021 and it was my introduction to the horror genre as a whole... which is probably too wild of a movie to get started on.
fomented my love for 80s campy horror and i still LOVE both the movie and characters to this day. i really like the second one as well but beyond re-animator... well. its definitely a
movie alright. still! one of my favorite horror movies ever n a film ill always appreciate a ton :)
Braindead (1992)
i LOOOVE braindead so much i dont even know where to begin. one of the most visually creative and artistic horror movies ive ever watched! totally unlike anything i had seen before.
its one of those movies where a good plot isnt exactly necessary; its still super fun to watch and definitely a movie ill be revisiting many times in the future
The Fly (1986)
mom introduced me to this one. which is. wow. this movie DEVASTATED me its way more tragic than i thought it would be when she recommended it to me.
its disgusting and sad and the practical effects are really impressive and oh my gooddddd. this was also the film that inrtoduced me to david cronenberg! very fond of his work
Electric Dreams (1984)
cant believe it took me this long to watch this one. im basing my entire personality on it for the next 3 months - sentient computers, corny acting and even cornier writing, absolutely no understanding of how a computer actually works, bizarre love triangle (haha get it like the new order song)... this movie was MADE for me
other special mentions:

Videodrome (1983)
Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)
Heathers (1989)
