The Hound of the Baskervilles

Release date: 3 Nov 1983
Watched: 12/03/25
Notes:
  • "I really like this Holmes! He's a bit more lighthearted and cheery than usual which is always a welcome change to see LOL
  • I have to admit that the very few changes to the original story confused me a bit but they're pretty small details which still make sense
  • I like this Stapleton. He was way closer to how I imagined him while reading the novel than other adaptations.
  • All of the sets of the movie are really good!
  • The ending scenes are SO cool. I loved Holmes' fight with the hound (the movie manages to make the dog terrifying without leaning too much in the supernatural aspect which usually makes it feel very out of place in a Sherlock Holmes story) and Stapleton's death scene was incredible."

    The Matrix (1999)
im writing an actual mini review for this one some other time i have way too many thoughts on it fav movie of all time

    Re-animator (1985)
watched this movie back in like 2021 and it was my introduction to the horror genre as a whole... which is probably too wild of a movie to get started on. fomented my love for 80s campy horror and i still LOVE both the movie and characters to this day. i really like the second one as well but beyond re-animator... well. its definitely a movie alright. still! one of my favorite horror movies ever n a film ill always appreciate a ton :)

    Braindead (1992)
i LOOOVE braindead so much i dont even know where to begin. one of the most visually creative and artistic horror movies ive ever watched! totally unlike anything i had seen before. its one of those movies where a good plot isnt exactly necessary; its still super fun to watch and definitely a movie ill be revisiting many times in the future

    The Fly (1986)
my mom introduced me to this one. which is. wow. this movie DEVASTATED me its way more tragic than i thought it would be when she recommended it to me. its disgusting and sad and the practical effects are really impressive and oh my gooddddd. this was also the film that inrtoduced me to david cronenberg! very fond of his work

    Electric Dreams (1984)
cant believe it took me this long to watch this one. im basing my entire personality on it for the next 3 months - sentient computers, corny acting and even cornier writing, absolutely no understanding of how a computer actually works, a bizarre love triangle (haha get it like the new order song)... this movie was MADE for me

Little Shop of Horrors (1986) - Dir. Frank Oz

i actually dont have much to say about this one LOL not because i didnt like it - it was a really fun experience, the characters are pretty charming and the humor is excellent - but i just dont have many thoughts on it. Diego Peretti, as per usual, was incredible. gracias szifron por ponerlo en un sueter y hacerlo actuar completamente patetico durante toda la pelicula te debo la VIDA ya entiendo porque tanto hype por peretti, esta pelicula me abrio los ojos

Relatos Salvajes (2014) - Dir. Damián Szifrón
happy 10 year anniversary to this amazing film!!!!!!! hell i didnt even know it was coming up when i watched it a few days ago. this was incredible! i love how emotionally charged it is and how all the characters are relatable in their own way. love how all of the tales manage to be entertaining and engaging! i wasnt really sure what to expect when going into this movie but god i was not disappointed whatsoever. mi favorita por lejos es la de los tipos que se pelean en la ruta DIOS que poetico casi ese final quede embobado. el de la boda es buenisimo tambien, ni hablar de bombita, y yo lo re banco a pasternak yo tambien haria lo del avion la verdad que bien que la penso
