Re-animator is a 1985 comedy horror film directed by Stuart Gordon, produced by Brian Yuzna and based on H. P. Lovecraft's serial novelette "Herbert West: Re-animator". Jeffrey Combs stars as Dr. Herbert West, a medicine student transferred from Europe who has invented a reagent that can re-animate deceased bodies. However, this reagent is still a work in progress, and through a series of experiments that went very, very wrong, West ends up bringing fateful consequences for both him and his roommate, Daniel Cain. ★

☆ FUN FACTS

during the shoot, the special effects department had to use around 24 gallons of fake blood! it is the bloodiest film John Naulin had worked on up until that point.

it was originally meant to be a musical and a T.V show, but due to financial troubles it ended up being a movie. A musical adaptation was made decades later, though!

it is actually not a very acurrate adaptation of the original tale by H. P Lovecraft, which was originally a Frankenstein parody
