Dexter (2006 - 2013)
this is barely a review here is me whining about this random show i decided to put myself through for 2 or 3 paragraphs im so sorry if you take the time to read this

this show sure is something. you know how they say that shows get canceled or end too soon nowadays. well back in 2006 they would NOT stop until the story got incredibly ridiculous or boringly unwatchable. i'm not glad to say that dexter mostly belongs to the second group (i will say however that season 6 is more like the first option) and its a bit sad to see

so the premise of this show is pretty interesting but you have to go in with a pretty open mind or rather not think too much about the whole psychological (???) aspect of it otherwise the general inaccuracy of how it's portrayed IS going to piss you off. i learnt to turn off that part of my brain pretty early while watching so it didn't bother me that much but i can see how it could annoy or even offend some people. its a 2006 show so im not going to ask much of it though this is not me complaining about it i just feel like it needs to be clarified

either way the first season is EXCELLENT. it took the concept and ran with it and did so marvelously. the show could have ended there and it would have been an understandable conclusion and to be completely honest i kind of wish it did. alas, it did not. theres a whole other SEVEN seasons to get through. jesus christ
ill go over the rest as quickly as possible: season two was good, so was the third, fourth was INSANELY good id even compare it to the greatness of the first, fifth was good but the villain was a bit boring (lumen get behind me!!!!!!!!), sixth was extremely weird and had a stupid plot twist and i kind of started to lose interest, seventh was mind numbingly BORING which is the worst thing a show can be really and by the time i got to the eighth i just couldn't wait to turn this thing off. fuckkk it should have ended on the first or fourth season im telling you. also WHY IS DEXTER STILL ALIVE i seriously would have dropped this thing during season 6 if i hadn't been watching this with someone else its so. boring. while watching the later seasons i just kept thinking about how much i missed the characters and dynamics and plot points of the first four i couldn't even concentrate on what was going on

to sum it up its just really sad to see a show get practically milked out and stretched for 4 seasons too many i really did feel like it lost a lot of its charm and humor its just sad. i dont know what else to say
so would i recommend this? yeah sure its a pretty good show but honestly if you do start getting bored of it at any given point after season 4 just drop it its really not worth it. so insane to think that theres a sequel and a prequel to this show. why… genuinely just why… surely there isnt that much of a story to tell omfg let it die
anyway i made a tier list because i dont actually like typing these reviews that much tbh im starting to get pissed off heres my general opinion on the characters. not based on character development its based on which one of these is my favorite insane person ok
